Captain Seth Hartleroad, owner and operator of Nauti-Nurse Sportfishing, brings a lifetime of experience and passion to every trip. His fishing roots run deep, beginning in childhood when he eagerly chose bait over burgers during family beach outings. That same enthusiasm led him to work on charter boats in Pensacola, eventually gaining experience on private vessels as well. Even when his career path briefly shifted to parasailing, his love for fishing remained constant.
Nearly a decade ago, Captain Seth returned to fishing full-time and hasn’t looked back. Over the years, he has proudly helped clients set four Alabama state records and even one world record—a true testament to his dedication and knowledge of the Gulf waters. What makes these accomplishments even more special is that the anglers weren’t professionals—they were everyday people who walked away with an unforgettable catch and their names in the books.
Captain Seth specializes in several offshore techniques but holds a particular love for deep drop fishing. This method takes anglers into depths from 300 to 1,500 feet using electric reels, where each drop holds the potential for delicious, high-quality species. He also enjoys high-speed trolling for Wahoo, and while it involves plenty of riding, the payoff is worth the patience. Another favorite is targeting Mahi-Mahi, especially when light tackle is involved—he enjoys the challenge and excitement these vibrant fish bring to the deck.
Guests will enjoy their day aboard a 46' Hatteras offshore sportfishing vessel, originally built in 1978 and maintained to meet modern standards. Powered by twin 550HP Detroit engines and cruising comfortably at 15 knots, this boat is built for both performance and comfort. With room for up to six guests, the spacious deck and cabin provide a relaxed, enjoyable environment while heading to productive fishing grounds. Whether you're deep dropping, trolling, or simply soaking in the salt air, this vessel is well-suited to deliver a successful day on the water.
